How it all started
In April 2002 the idea of Wish2getha™ was born when a very dear friend of mine Sarah Wood , had a very interesting conversation with an elderly lady while she was away at a spa for the weekend. The elderly lady asked Sarah “ what is on your wishlist ”? When Sarah mentioned that she does not actually keep a wishlist, the elderly lady advised her that it is a very good habit to have, as it helps you focus on what you want from life.
This got Sarah thinking a lot about her wishlist and she was convinced that it is indeed a very good idea. It made her wonder about how many people out there have wishlists or think they need one?
Sarah gave me a call when she got back from the Spa and told me about her idea and she was very excited about it. So we met up for drinks and discussed it at length and we both decided to investigate the idea further by talking to friends and families about “what is on their wishlist ” and asking them if they would use a service like wish2getha™.
We both spoke to our families and friends and both came to the conclusion that it will indeed be a very good idea to provide people with a medium which will allow them access to their wishlist at anytime and from anywhere in the world with some contents and interactivity built around it. That was when the idea of a site called wishtogether/wish2getha was formed.
It has taken about a year and half to come to fruition and the site was launched on the 29th of December 2003 . This is a very memorable date for Wish2getha™ as we have realised the first wish on the wish2getha's wishlist. Our aim is to help motivate our members in the pursuance of their wishes/dreams/goals.
Our Ethos/Values

- We only send out the Dare2wish newsletters to those who have opted in and welcome emails to new members only.
- We will never send spam mails to our members.
- We ask our members what they think of an idea before we go ahead with it.
- We welcome all the feedback we get: good and bad and our customer services team work really hard to answer all emails within 24 hours.
- We also have a monitoring system that monitors the content of the site to ensure everyone on the site is entering it in the right spirit and not writing anything that might cause distress or concern to other members.
Charity Support
At Wish2getha™ we believe that a wish granted is true magic which is why we have taken it upon ourselves to have a charity that we have an affinity with. We have selected Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK as our supported charity. Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK has one simple aim - to grant the wishes of children aged 3 to 18 living with life-threatening illnesses.
A wish granted is true magic for the child and provides happy memories for all the family and respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors and treatment.
Regardless of the nature, cost or complexity of a wish we are fully committed to providing the maximum level of care and enjoyment for our children and their families.
Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK achieves this through a combination of professionalism, high attention to detail and sensitivity; nothing is too much trouble for our children.
Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK has its headquarters in Camberley , Surrey with 16 regional centres that co-ordinate the granting of wishes and raise funds across the country. Since 1986 thanks to Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK nearly 3,000 very special children have realised their greatest dream and experienced the hope, strength and joy each wish provides.
